We visited Yosemite one September afternoon many years ago and encountered a trickle of water dripping over the cliffs of Bridalveil falls. Disappointment. We had traveled with great anticipation to see this iconic falls but it was just not the season to see much water cascading over the cliffs.
A trip in early April recently more than made up for our disappointment. It had been a wet and snowy winter in the High Sierras and the flow was incredible. We felt the mist from the falls perhaps a quarter mile before we reached the base.
We tried hard to capture the essence of the scene and found it difficult to really show how beautiful this was. I finally settled on this black and white as a way to showcase the contrast between the mist and the rugged mountains.
