Description
These African penguins are only found on the coastlines of Southern Africa. In 1982, a couple of breeding pairs of African penguins settled at Boulders Beach which is actually a residential area. The penguins are on still on the verge of extinction due to a reduction in the food supply. However, recent limitations in the trawling for the anchovy-like small fish, have allowed this particular colony to grow to over 3,000 birds.
Doug and Marcy Wielfaert are a husband and wife team located in Tennessee near the Great Smoky Mountains. Our home range certainly colors our portfolio, but we love traveling across the country and around the globe to capture scenes like this one. We would be honored if you would “like”, “favorite” or comment on this image, doing so helps increase our search engine rankings.
