Rich Mountain road offers an alternate exit from the Cades Cove loop in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This well-maintained, gravel road curves and switches back and forth, rising quickly above the valley floor to offer beautiful views of the valley floor from a couple of vantage points. In Autumn, a colorful canopy of hardwoods offers scenes like this one.
