The Cades Cove Methodist Church is an iconic structure located in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The little white church looks great against autumn foliage , especially from Rich Mountain Road which winds up above the cove where we find this view. For many years, this vantage point was just not possible, but the park service removed trees to provide this vista. We waited for just the right day and weather and finally captured the image we wanted!

This Cades Cove congregation also began modestly meeting in a log structure with a fire pit and dirt floor. As change came rather slowly in the Smokies, it took sixty two years to get a newer more modern building. In 1902 carpenter/pastor, John D.
