Description

It is written that the marabou stork is considered the ugliest bird in the world. I am not sure I agree, but they do have some negative traits - Their legs are white because the birds use their own excrement to cool themselves, and their heads are bald and fuzzy, but hey, so are some of our heads. The marabou is called the undertaker bird due to its shape from behind with cloak-like wings and hunched back.

Doug and Marcy Wielfaert are a husband and wife team located in Tennessee near the Great Smoky Mountains. Our home range certainly colors our portfolio, but we love traveling across the country and around the globe to capture scenes like this one.
