Description

We live in East Tennessee near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Autumn is a color feast for the eyes here, where dogwoods and sassafras are tinged with color first followed by hardwoods such as red and sugar maple as well as oak and hickory.

I've tried to capture the grandeur of the leaves with broad panoramas, and those shots do showcase the beauty, but this close up of a dogwood with a view toward a Cades Cove meadow has been one of my favorites.
