Artist's Description
Venice is certainly a highly desired travel destination. I have always wanted to visit, but I just couldn't believe that I would ever be able to experience such an exotic place, however, Marcy and I finally made it. What I was hoping to capture in this image was the timeless, ancient quality of the place. Most everyone has a notion of Venice from readings of history to stories in Mark Twain's "Innocents Abroad" to modern travel documentaries. Venice has been with us for at least 1,600 years even hundreds of years prior to the establishment of a city-state, and I wondered how I might say or showcase something unique about this wonderful place.
